Description:
The advantages of collagen as a bioink are very good biocompatibility, low immunogenicity, and easy degradability. However, when collagen is used alone, the physical and mechanical properties are poor (a weakness almost common to natural materials) and the performance is rather homogeneous. Moreover, the inevitable weaknesses such as strong hydrophilicity and susceptibility to degradation by collagenase in vivo limit its application. CD BioSciences offers methacrylated collagen, which greatly improves the collagen forming properties. The printability of collagen is enhanced to some extent. Based on the superior biocompatibility and mechanical properties of Col-MA, it can be widely used in tissue engineering and microorgan construction.
